What are trenches or troughs on the sea bed?
Trenches or troughs are deep valleys in the sea bed. They are cracks formed when one part of the sea bed moves, and crashes against another. Some trenches are over 10 kms deep. The Marianas in the Pacific Ocean, is the deepest ocean trench.
